Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 05/10/2016

Number: 1

1st siting of the season. Male. Was hovering in front of my large front window as if to announce that he was finally here. Thank goodness I've had feeders out since 04-15-16. I heard it was an early migration. Most folks around here saw their hummingbirds earlier than usual. I have been keeping track for years. This sighting was "on schedule" for mine. Haven't noticed any others yet. Have heard from others they have see lots. They'll hopefully show themselves in bigger numbers here soon. Lots of fresh nectar awaits them and soon lots of blossoms-if it ever stops raining!
