As I was gardening around 10:30 this morning, a male Broadtail Hummingbird flew past me to a nearby Yellow-Flowering Currant bush. It proceeded to alternately feed, rest, and groom itself on each of the three currant bushes in my yard over a 15 minute period before flying off.
This was my first visual siting of the season although I had heard a hummingbird in the yard on May 13.
