This is the 3rd season of my planted A. syriaca patch (now around 20 stems). We have little wild common milkweed in the area. Last year fireflies, tussock moths and milkweed bugs found this patch, but no monarchs. This is my first evidence. Caterpillar is 40mm long. Just this one. I planted 3 other patches elsewhere on our farm. Amazing how the monarchs somehow find the milkweed.
