Oriole (1st Baltimore)

Date: 05/24/2016

Number: 1

Male oriole singing loudly and coming to jelly feeder at regular intervals, for the 4th consecutive day now. As early as 6 am until 8 pm. He flies a large circle west to east, his call is answered by a distant oriole as he claims territory and I think they are weaving their nest one km east, where there is a forested trail and stream and tall deciduous and evergreen trees. Close to RR tracks. Gorgeous Victoria Day weekend and the oriole's call could be heard above the roar of neighbours' lawnmower. More orioles here this year, than last. Not eating fresh orange halves, or sugar water.
