Unidentified adult flying north to south at a rapid clip, roughly 5-6 feet altitude suggesting that it's a male looking for a female in terms of flight habit. Not interested in any of the flowers at all. An egg-laying female will fly close to the ground; female looking for male will perch on the tip of a twig at about the same altitude that this adult was flying and will flash wings to signify availability. I checked nearby tree twigs--no female monarchs available, none observed laying eggs.
