I saw the first Monarch of the season on June 1st, in a patch of not blooming ironweed and wingstem. We have over 50 large stands of common milkweeds on our farm, some over 100 feet in diameter with hundreds of plants. I was bushhogging a walking path ... chased it down after 10 minutes and took a picture with my cell phone.
