Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 06/03/2016

Number: 2

Two Monarch larvae were found on Swamp Milkweed. They looked to be 3rd or early 4th instar. One appeared to have experienced an incomplete molting (head capsule) and was bleeding. I brought the other in. It fed until last evening when it attached to top of container to pupate. Today it was limp and dead. Appears to be parasitized, can see pupae inside. Will save and hatch out the parasitoids to send to OSU or MLMP.
