I Observed at least 4 different Monarchs at Idaho Fish and Game's CJ Strike Wildlife Management Area. This patrolling male, two females, and another presumed male in a territorial squabble with a viceroy. I was not able to find any eggs or larvae on the abundant showy milkweed. The females were only interested in feeding on the blooming alfalfa in the upland wildlife plantings, with no signs of interest in egg laying yet.
