Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 06/09/2016

Number: 1

We weren't sure whether it was just one butterfly that made several passes over us while we ate lunch in the garden. It even landed briefly on my shoulder, but it was so quick that we weren't able to tell whether
it was male or female. (I think male, because it acted more as if it were patrolling than trying to lay eggs. Maybe it was even the same one I saw a few days earlier and was able to identify as male only from a photo that caught the spots on the hindwings as he fluttered by.)
