Practice Report (Any Species)

Date: 06/09/2016

Number: 1

First I ever saw in this region, very large Monarch. I am so positive it's a monarch, he was only maybe a foot away from my face on the other side of the glass as I was standing
at the window, and the butterfly was testing & fluttering between some teeny pink flowers blooming in our hedge (I will try to find out name of the
hedge, it's a bush about 4 ft tall). Saw both wings clearly facing me for a moment.
We have had some extremely warm weather here, up to 30-32 degrees, but last couple days were only mid 20's,maybe 24today with winds.
We live next to a creek close to the ocean & have had noticeable winds, especially today.
