While visiting Idaho Fish and Game's CJ Strike WMA I spotted 4 different Monarchs in one area NE of the WMA headquarters. Two females, one confirmed male patrolling the area, and another presumed male in a territorial squabble with a viceroy. There was plenty of blooming showy milkweed but no eggs or larvae seen. Both females were totally occupied with feeding on the plentiful alfalfa blossoms, paying little attention to the milkweed all around.
