Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 06/11/2016

Number: 1

5:45 pm 34c 92f humid mostly clear day. I saw 1 monarch fluttering due west across our backyard about 10' above the ground. I got my nearby camera & ran outside but was unable to catch up as it continued west behind neighbour's home & out of view.
Upon initial sighting it's hind wings looked tattered.
Immediately checked milkweed that it had passed about 12' away & checked all mw nearby around our home without success of locating eggs. This was almost identical to our first sighting May 30th;same time of day & direction of flight.
We do have 2 first in star larvae from eggs rescued June 3rd.
