On 6-2, I found this larva on a lone common milkweed surrounded by sprayed thistle that lay dying around it. On 6-12, it became a beautiful chrysalis. If everything goes okay, it will be the earliest adult I have ever released in approx. 15 years -- unbelievable because I've seen so few monarchs or their eggs/larvae this year in/near St. Anthony.
