Having collected a number of eggs at this location on June 20, I went searching for the adults I knew were there. Saw at least 3 different adults (simultaneously, and with different fading and wear patterns on wings). They were all acting like males, patrolling between milkweed patches scattered along nearly a mile of road. I also collected 5 more eggs and one 2nd instar larvae. There were probably more adults than three, as nearly every time I looked up from searching for eggs and watched for butterflies, I would spot one cruising around. Still, I never got a really good picture!
