We released the last four of our first batch of monarchs today. All nine of that group were female. The eggs appeared to have all been laid be the same early monarch on May 22nd. Usually, our monarchs have been half or more male. We released these 4 in a crowd of small children,who were delighted to see the butterflies fly into a nearby catalpa tree.
