This video was taken last week. But my first sighting was of a male rufous and the rest of the crowd followed about two weeks later.
Typically every summer we get about 20 hummingbirds to our feeders. A mix of rufous and ruby throated hummingbirds. Last year was a bad year with very few coming through.
The typical arrival time for my first rufous is the middle of April, so they were definitely early this year. I have 3 feeders and at this time I am changing the main large one 3 times a day.
