Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 05/30/2016

Number: 1

Very interesting to see a Monarch caterpillar on a Plumeria plant, eating the leaves for several days. Then dissappeared so might have left plant to pupate.

Editor's note: Plumeria, is in the dogbane family, Apocynaceae. The family Asclepiadaceae (now known as Asclepiadoideae) is considered a subfamily of Apocynaceae. Interesting to see a monarch larva eating the leaf of plumeria, but it does make some sense.
