At noon today we watched a male monarch display patrolling behavior by flying all around our syriaca and tuberosa patches in circles and also exploring all other nectar plants. He was very quick about it and stayed no longer than 5 minutes. He was no doubt looking for females. We are in the city of Chatham, Monarch Watch Waystation #13039.
