Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/27/2016

Number: 1

My swamp milkweed went from bud to flower about two days ago and today I saw the first monarch of the season flying from one plant to another. This first sighting was a day earlier than last year's. It appeared to be a female. I will check for eggs this evening. The weather is hot--high 80's, gusty winds and very sunny.
