Spotted the first monarch of the season this afternoon. A female that was in poor condition. Her wings were almost transparent and you could tell she was on her last legs. Although she landed on the milkweed in our garden and fed on the flowers she did not lay any eggs. I am still waiting to start raising the next generation.
