One mating pair and one bright colored male nectaring on Western Soapberry, Sapindus Saponaria at 3 p.m. Likely more in the area (we saw several fliers) but hum of nearby bees in the trees urged us to move away from the immediate area. The number of monarchs are early for this location and a good omen for the breeding season. (Submitted by Gail, Jeannine and Bob through Southwest Monarch Study)
