Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 07/07/2016

Number: 2

The University of Illinois' Idea Garden has lots of different flowers on display, and is a natural magnet for butterflies. This afternoon, two monarchs visited, and at first appeared to be engaged in an arial dual. This went on for at least 10 minutes, before they settled down and I saw what they were up to. I only had my lousy camera phone, but the picture is clear - look for little ones in a few days.
