My friend found an egg and raised it to an adult male which eclosed 7/3...she brought it to me on 7/4 to try and decide the best place to release it since neither of us had seen any other monarchs... We had some wet weather whenever I thought I might release it...I finally did it today (7/7), in the Huntington Metropark meadow. There were two other monarchs flitting about a big patch of milkweed. I think I picked the right spot. I also found only 3 eggs after looking at MANY common and swamp milkweed plants, under leaves and in flower clusters. Hopefully our "#1 guy" will help that effort along now!
