On July 2, 83 monarchs were counted by a weekly bird count volunteer who is doing visual survey only of Monarchs in the wetlands. This survey lasts 6 hours and is usually done Wednesdays. (He is gone from end of July to September, so there are no reports for that time.) All were sighted on Stillwater NWR in Fallon NV, along main irrigation canal near mlkwd (both narrowleaf -70%., showy -30%.) males, females, fresh hatch. Nectaring on Showy milkweed, flitting about.
