Monarch Larva (FIRST sighted)

Date: 07/10/2016

Number: 10

Today I saw my third Monarch of the entire season. It was a female and she was clearly laying eggs on common milkweed. She was faded but her wings were in good shape. After she left my garden I inspected the plants I'd seen her on and found two eggs. I then inspected other milkweed locations around my yard and found 8 more eggs. I don't know if she laid them all or not. I brought them inside to rear. I reared two eggs last summer and they had flown out of here by the 4th of July so this seems like a late start. Hopefully all will go well.
