2:45 pm. First I've seen all year. My husband saw 2 in late May, while I was away for a month. Moving quickly over the garden, appeared to be looking for young milkweed. (Mine's old and I only just cut some back.) Later I identified 1 monarch as female, flying low, landing on small plants, moving on. Did stop on a butterflyweed long enough to nectar a bit.
