Forwarded by Dr. Lincoln Brower: Not a great image, but this is our first of the year monarch! Seen just an hour ago, she also left us a few eggs. Quite busy and flitting around, she was very skittish and difficult to photograph. She also nectared on our Joe-Pye Weed for a bit which is in bloom.

I have only heard of 2 other sightings in the area, and our overall number of butterfly species continues to be very low.
