Monarch Egg (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 07/15/2016

Number: 18

This is the first Monarch eggs we noticed on our milkweed this year. We have collected 18 eggs that we think were deposited by the same battered and faded female. As of today, the 18th of July, they have not hatched or turned the grayish color showing they are ready to hatch. Still have our fingers crossed they will hatch and we will have little larvae to feed for a month. This is also the latest we have collected eggs since we began raising Monarchs in 2010. We hope they make a comeback this year.
