I spied this female laying eggs on this very small milkweed. I had let the lawn go without mowing due to a heat wave and dry spell, which gave young milkweed shoots an opportunity to sprout. This female ignored all the larger and older milkweed in the yard and focused on all the little sprouts. I checked afterwards and found two eggs amongst the sprouts.
