Female monarch walking around near the top of a Gomphocarpus physocarpus milkweed, touching the end of her abdomen to various leaves near the flower buds. She left without laying an egg, although she spent several seconds touching each of about four spots. Adjacent to the G. physocarpus was an A. curassavica, and a couple feet away in various directions were many A. syriaca plants. There were also lantana, zinnia, and tithonia in bloom, but she didn't stop on those.
