On a trip to northern Wisconsin, I saw three different adults in three locations near Lakewood, Wisconsin. I was encouraged to see many, many large stands of healthy milkweed along WI Hwy. 32 and along several other county roads. It appears that they do not mow more than three feet off the side of the road, so there was a lot of milkweed. I observed one very large cat and went back to check on him two days later and could not find him. Am hoping he just found a hiding spot, but I kicked myself for not taking him in. I returned home to find four of my eight cats in pupae with three growing nicely.
