I watched a female monarch lay an egg on an 8-inch volunteer milkweed plant growing in my front yard. My husband mowed around it just yesterday. How lucky was that!
I'm finding eggs on younger, more tender Common Milkweed plants now. Also, I found an egg on my Rose Milkweed plant today (for this year).
