Briefly spotted a Monarch butterfly flitting about a swamp milkweed in my backyard garden about 3 PM. While I was not close enough for a clear identification, my guess is it was a female as it was landing on leaves rather than flowers. We'll see in a few days if any little caterpillars appear. Weather was mostly sunny and about 85 degrees F.
