Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 08/06/2016

Number: 1

Since my last report weeks ago I spotted only 2 more adult Monarchs: 1 female and 1 male(spots on back wing). Both very young. If they're not birthing here then it's nearby. Where the original few females visited, on swamp milkweed (Incarnata), I am now finding active chewing on the adjacent common milkweed(syriaca) consistent with instar feeding. I have not yet actually spotted caterpillars but that may be because they are at first instar stage. I impatiently await my visitors to fatten up and show themselves.
