Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers

Date: 08/06/2016

Number: 8

There has been a distinct change in hummingbird activity the past few days. Many gathered in flowerbeds, drawing nectar. At least 3 males; lots of spats at the hummingbird feeders. A feeding frenzy going on. Heavy traffic of hummers, orioles, and wasps at feeders. (August 4, first monarch butterfly emerged from chrysalis - very early; last year it occurred the first day of grade school - the last days of August.)
