Spotted a female ruby throat nectaring from streptocarpella flowers on my deck. She had a patch of white feathers around the base of her beak. As I mentioned last year,a female hummer with the same white markings has arrived to visit flowers and the feeders on my deck every August since 2011. By her appearance and behavior I believe her to be the same bird,but of course can not completely verify this. I have only seen her during the month of August.
