Hummer activity has really peaked in our area now. Many hummers in the backyard all day long, drinking at feeders and nectaring at our flowers. Our huge trumpet vine resembles a war zone in the evening. I've seen at least four at once around it eating/fighting. All female/juvenile. Some juvenile males are beginning territorial behavior by choosing one of our feeders as "theirs" and guarding it aggressively from pieces of coat hangar wire we placed nearby (see photo).
