This Spring and Summer from May 12 to August 12 I have only observed 6 monarchs. No monarchs were seen in May or June possibly due to cold weather with a lot of easterly winds and slow milkweed growth. July and August had three monarchs each. There is now a mini drought and the lawns are brown and some milkweed are blooming or have pods, but leaves are turning brown and curling. I have yet to find eggs or larva in the Harrisville area including all my favorite milkweed locations. The Goldenrod Plants are beginning to bloom a little earlier than usual.
