Planting monarch nectar/host plants has made a significant difference in getting monarchs to my shaded backyard. I struggled to get even one to visit. But now I am seeing positive things happen. Selectively, I planted every sunny spot with Swamp Milkweed and tested many areas with nectar plants to see what would survive. It took awhile with many failures, and my shaded plants aren't normal size but what's happening can't be happenstance because right now I have too many monarch eggs to monitor.
