Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 08/11/2016

Number: 18

Observed 3 on Asclepias oenotheroides. Next day found 9 on Asclepias tuberosa. On August 13 there were 16 larva on same plant. August 14 noticed a praying mantis was feasting and moved remaining 8 to a cage indoors. They seem to be happy chomping and pooping. Have looked at quite a few asclepias viridis and asperula in the area and don't see any evidence of larva feeding on them.
