I have multiple Milkweed and Hibiscus and Salvia plants which attract the butterflies. I have successfully raised 4 batches of Monarch butterflies this year. Wild butterflies lay the eggs and then I protect them from the birds with netting. Once ready for cocoon they are transferred to a box with air holes and allowed to grow without fear of being eaten. Once the butterflies emerge they are immediately released back into the habitat. I have done this for 4 years. I've only just found your website and I'm happy to contribute more data. I think I've probably raised and released about 250 Monarchs so far. I have photos, but the website isn't allowing me to upload them.
