Number: 25

Hi all,
A great second day tagging monarchs at Rosetta McClain in Scarborough. Tagged 18 monarchs (14 male 4 female) WBA 378 to WBA 397. I'd say 14 were migrating west and on to Mexico and 4 stayed at Rosetta. WBA 381 tagged out of sequence on Monday was re-caught 2-3 times. We missed tagging about 5-6 monarchs so I'd say a good 25 monarchs passed through Rosetta. Other butterflies: tiger and black swallowtail, red and white admirals, fiery skipper, cabbage whites. Just a perfect temperature butterfly day with just the right moisture in the air!
Note these monarchs are coming along the Lake Ontario bluffs, from RNUP. Next step is to find where they are crossing the Rouge!
Lots of young future citizen scientists got to release a monarch today!
Good tagging
Terry
