Very few arriving adult Monarchs observed toward the end of July/16. Adults were less than six or so. These were mostly weak, faded and in overall poor looking conditions.
They were also very late in arriving compared to previous years.
Aug 2015 I observed at the very least 8 caterpillars in various stages. 4 - 6 were observed to burst/fledge from the chrysalis.
Aug 2010 & 2011 toward the end of Aug numbers of adult Monarchs were so high that at times they resembled falling maple leaves.
