The nursing care facility where my Mother resides in Bellefonte, PA, did a Monarch butterfly release on 6/18/2016. While a few butterflies were still hovering about the facility's garden for the next couple of weeks, we have not spotted any eggs or caterpillars on the milkweeds (a mix of common and swamp) in the garden since the release. (Last year, by mid-August we had seen dozens.). This afternoon, 8/17/2016, I did see a male Monarch butterfly flitting about and feeding from the flowers of a purple Buddleia bush in the facility's garden for over 20 minutes.
