Was doing late day yardwork, haven't seen a monarch since spring except for one stray months earlier, zooming across the back yard. Today, this female monarch showed up but was zooming around my Honeyvines like she was doing a looping happy dance. Sun was setting, it was 7:30 pm, and she roosted on a very high branch in my pecan tree for the night. Caught the pic with my vidcam and this was the best still I could get out of it. She moved very fast, but the stills allowed me to determine that this was definitely a female.
