Monarchs in flight, nectaring (most on thistle), and ovipositing. I was at the The Nature Conservancy’s Tallgrass Prairie Preserve for about 3 hours on Sunday. The observations were spread out over that time period. Most of the individuals were nectaring on thistle, although some may have been ovipositing (I reported my egg and larval observations separately; I also found one chrysalis on the underside of a leaf of an A. syriaca plant, but didn’t report that observation).
