42 adult monarchs sighted flying and nectaring in farm fields from afternoon until dusk. Most of the monarchs were observed flying or nectaring between 6-8pm. We observed them one by one over these hours. They have 150 acres or so of farm fields, and we saw the monarchs while we were taking a walk. A few were seen earlier in the day. Some of the monarchs were flying up into the trees a little before 8pm, but we could not see if there was an actual “roost”. I’m not sure what the difference is between a roost, and a place to sleep for the night?
