Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/23/2016

Number: 3

About 3 juveniles are still here fattening up, feeding heavily from the feeders and gardens. They are very mature for this time of year even though they didn't appear until very late: they are large and males already have their red throat rings, females' bellies are quite white. In prior years at this time, the juveniles couldn't be distinguished from each other, were small and all still had the dark chest feathers.
