Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 08/23/2016

Number: 1

Finally! An "orange beauty", AKA Monarch appeared on my Lantana after working on adding many new flower beds and gardens to an otherwise "flowerless yard" since last Fall. The yard is now also a registered "wildlife habitat."

We are working hard to establish Milkweed in our butterfly gardens to attract more butterflies. We have many Tiger Swallowtails but this was our first Monarch! Yesterday was a day of celebration for us when we spotted this. We are deeply inspired to continue adding to our butterfly habitat and to continue raising awareness about the need to help protect our beautiful Monarchs so that they can multiply.
