Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 08/25/2016

Number: 1

Since Aug 15, they've been here feeding on whatever is available--mint, nasturtium, Clerodendron, phlox, carrot, Echinacea, maybe sunflower. Lots of Canadian and black Swallowtails as well. This happens to coincide with a good blackberry year, and these may be being raised nearby at Long Pasture Audubon. Whatever the reason, numbers are up! Sadly, the dry summer has left no milkweed in bloom. They're already prodded up.
